About me
A seasoned translator and interpreter with a lot of experience in many, but by far not all fields. While I primarily work with clients from the business and financial arena (investment funds, banks, law firms, large international players in various disciplines of business) I also love helping the hospitality industry (hotels and restaurants, city guides etc.). On the other hand, I will never touch texts from fields like life science, natural scie...

Work experience

Translator & Interpreter - Self-employed owner in BusinessWords - Helga Humlova
from 2013 to Present
After 20 years abroad, I returned to my home-country, Austria, and continued to work in the translation & interpreting profession, which I plan to continue for the next 10 to 15 years. As for a list of clients, please see below (2001-13 in Prague), or alternatively visit my website www.businesswords.eu
Translator/Interpreter - Self-employed Owner in Helga Humlova - Prague Business Translations
from 2001 to 2013
This was the start of my self-employed career as a translator & interpreter, and I did quite well. To name some of my clients of those days: PricewaterhouseCoopers (my former employer became my client), PPG, EY, The City of Prague, The University of Manchester, CIA News, some of the larger hotel chains in Prague, Reditelstvi silnic a dalnic (the Czech Road Constraction Authority), some fine Czech and Slovak restraurants (menus & wine lists), law & notary public firms from the UK and the US
Executive Secretary in TBMA - The Bond Market Association (now SIFMA)
from 2000 to 2001
This was a specific 6-month-assignment to help TBMA setting up their European offices. I was chosen because of the unique professional combination I had to offer - being a trained PA, fluent in three European languages - English, German and Czech.
PA to Senior Partner in PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers)
from 1993 to 2000
I was hired when it was still PW (Pricewaterhouse), to assist the Corporate Finance Lead Partner. A few years later I switched to the Audit department to assist (a newly arrived) Partner from Germany in setting up a German Desk for the Audit business. My years with PW and PwC were probably the most important, challenging and rewarding time in my professional life, perfectly preparing me for the self-employed path as a linguist, I chose after my time with TBMA.
