I am a German native speaker, bilingually reared in German and English. My dominant language is German. I studied Anthropology, Japanese Linguistics, Japanese History at Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany, and Vietnamese Language at Can Tho University, Vietnam. After working as an archaeologist for some years I decided to become a freelance translator. I have been living now in Vietnam since 2009, where I research, teach English and German and work as a translator in cooperation with local authorities and translation bureaus. I am happy to offer my services for your projects and look forward to working with you.
I am a native German living for 37 years in Japan, where I by now also have been working for over 30 years as a freelance translator. I specialize first of all in medical text. Being also a practicing acupuncturist with well over 30 years of clinical practice, I also handle texts related to oriental medicine. I believe the number of people able to do that is much lower than with medicine.
Graduated in Japanese Studies (thesis about media and linguistics), I am working as a freelance translator since 2015, mainly translating TV shows and websites from Japanese to English and German, as well as English to German. I am currently working as manager and instructor at an English conversation school chain, here in Osaka, doing freelance translation jobs as well. Your project will be in good hands if you decide to book me.
