I have been working as full-time translator in various English to Brazilian Portuguese freelance projects since February 2013. Much of this work was done through online platforms, and I currently hold a Platinum Badge at One Hour Translation, having translated over 680,000 words in more than 2,000 projects, proofread/edited over 500 projects, and peer-reviewed numerous other projects for that company. During this time, my work experience has been focused on the education sector and e-commerce, but I also concluded a diverse range of other projects that include the translation of games, subtitles for feature films, workers' CVs, and several legal agreements and contracts.

I "started" translating in 2005 when I was a teenager. I had a Brazilian forum about a Korean singer and most of the news we've got were in English. I translated all the English news we could find into Portuguese so our friends and visitors could read too.
In 2009 I got into Languages course in college, thinking in becoming a literary translator since I really love to read. I translated short stories, ended up learning how to subtitle, all to family and friends.
Late in 2015, I started my specialization in English - Portuguese translation where I've learned a lot about this amazing career. In 2016 I got my first paid jobs in translation and I've joined Babelcube, Coursera, and TedTalks to improve my skills.
Today, I translate more technical texts than literature. But I can't say it isn't amazing. I've learned so many new things, and so much about myself in the process that I must say it is a win-win situation.
I have a large experience translating technical and marketing documents for the IT industry, having worked for such companies as Veritas Software, Symantec, Byte Magazine Brazil, Riverbed Technology, and ServiceNow.
I also have many years of experience working for the subtitling industry for a wide range of companies, among them HBO, Netflix, and São Paulo International Movie Festival.
Besides that, I also worked as translator and writer of comic book stories for Disney Brazil, books, Bible stories, academic documents, and lectured about web searching and online tools to a wide range of professionals, including journalists, PR professionals, translators and professors.
I have over 20 years of experience as an Advertiser, working for big Global companies such as Unilever, Coca-Cola and Avon. I hold a bachelor degree in Advertising, as well as an MBA in Corporate Administration, and I am now getting a Certificate in Translation and Languages from the University of Toronto. English has been my passion since I was 10 years old and I am now taking a free fall leap and leaving my old life behind to pursue an old dream of working as a Translator.
I am portuguese and I work with the english source language since 2002 on a daily basis, as a professional in aeronautics and lately in railways.
I have been working as a freelancer translator/localizer in gaming/apps/software for the past 3 years.
My usual CAT tools are MemoQ, MemSource, Xbench and Smartcat.
I have localized more than 20 games in a wide variety of genres like RPG, MMORPG, ADVENTURE, PUZZLE, IDLE and MTX (Microtransaction)GAMES.
- Game of Sultans by Mechanist Games
- Design Island by Chiseled Games Limited
- Design My Room by Nuts Power
- Polynesia Adventure by Nuts Power
- Legacy Of God by Stargame Limited
- Emma's Adventure: California by Nuts Power

Hello! My name is Júlia and I'm an ENG-PTBR translator.
My translations are manually done by me, never through any sort of machine translations and they are also proofread and revised before turned in. I have worked with an assorted number of online and software CAT tools and have basic knowledge of coding and I'm a fast learner with new technologies and software.
My goal while translating and revising is for the text to seem localized, I always try to make the end result flow easily on the reader's eyes. I adapt the text (when needed) so it doesn't look "chunky" or "automated", it should always look like someone wrote it and not a translation bot.
I am very motivated and passionate about translating. I believe localizing and making sure the right message is delivered is always very fun and important. I value my clients and always aim for their satisfaction. My schedule is very flexible and I'm very committed to my deadlines.
Thank you in advance!

Hello there! I'm Gustavo - nice to meet you! I'm an undergrad currently working towards a bachelor's degree in Portuguese/English Translation. Although I've just started seeking professional certification (I switched to my current major after three years in biotech), I've worked with translation for a while and have been fluent in English for as long as I can remember. My work so far has been informal - I translated abstracts for scientific papers, proofread articles from grad students, created language mods for games - and I'm eager to build up my professional portfolio.
