For past few years, I have been working for several companies working in international business. I've worked on a variety of projects from retail, e-commerce to e-publishing. My job consisted of copywriting and writing in general in three languages - Czech, English, and German - translations and interpreting.
I've just started as a freelance translator but my experience in English writing, translating and editing go back to when I still studied university. Although I cannot provide many examples of my paid work to portfolio due to confidentiality of the material, I will be adding other material I translate for my own use.
I'm a ProZ Certified PRO member with seven years experience of translating from Czech and Slovak into English. After working in British academia for 23 years and translating in my free time, I decided to study translation and become a full-time freelancer. I obtained my Diploma in Translation in 2014 and I am now based in the U.S., specializing in medical, legal, literary, and academic translations, as well as proofreading and copy-editing. I work for direct clients and agencies in the U.S., United Kingdom, Japan, and Canada.
My translations are always accurate, as I research things obsessively, and formatted to match the layout of the original. I always aim to deliver the highest quality work.

I started volunteering as a freelance interpreter back in 2013, and finally got some work experience 2 years later. I've been doing freelance and privately contracted work for about two and a half years now. I have a native level fluency in Slovak, though I speak Czech and Russian very well also. The languages I've worked with most are Slovak and Czech, but because I'm in Moscow, I'm doing a lot of Russian right now. I prefer translating from other languages into English, but I'm willing to work either way.
I am a recent languages graduate of the University of Sheffield specialising in translation from Russian, Czech, Slovak and French into my native British English.
