Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!
Please let me suggest that you consider my candidature as one for further cooperation in the scope of professional translation in the sphere of theoretical, specialized and applied sciences of law and translation of legal documents as well as for work on other topics in view of my personal qualities and professional background.
The professional translation practice was an integral part of my daily working procedure when I held a post of a chief detective of the Office of the National Central Bureau of INTERPOL of Russia and during the period of my more than 8-year INTERPOL career I accumulated a meaningful experience in translation in the sphere of jurisprudence (including law enforcement) and economics in the proper segment.
Moreover, I have got a wide experience in translation of a broad spectrum of analytical materials as well as organizational and methodological documents (international reviews; reports; guidelines; protocols of workshops, conferences, meetings etc) on legal, economic and business topics.
Possessing a teaching qualification in Russian and in English as well as translator/interpreter certificates (French/Russian, Spanish/Russian) I provide translations of the texts of various difficulty categories from the working languages of INTERPOL (English, French, Spanish) into Russian and vice versa. A degree in jurisprudence assists me to realize deeper the items, terms and concepts which are at the intersection of linguistics and jurisprudence and other spheres of a modern life, – and therefore to come to a better understanding of the tasks and missions and to carry them out more efficiently.
Furthermore, I have some experience in translation of belles-lettres (including pieces of poetry) as well as social and political essays from English into Russian within the framework of my private translation practice.
There are software “ABBYY Lingvo” and electronic sources “Multitran” and “Linguee” among my favourite linguistic tools. I also made it a rule to consult the specialists and experts as well as to resort to the help of the specialised foreign and domestic websites taking into account the specificity and the thematic scope of the original text.
In my opinion, one of the most important components of a quality work consists in the strict adherence to the principle of the lexical and semantic valency as well as of keeping of the idiomaticity of the text in the language of the translation.
Doing my best to improve my skills in linguistics and law, in my work I strive for logicality, accuracy, scrupulosity and creativity.
So I’m ready and open to new knowledge, practice, projects, contacts and cooperation!
Faithfully yours, BOTIN Vladimir.
