< JP/EN bilingual assistant, translator and teacher > As a bilingual assistant at Reed Exhibition Japan, I worked on promoting international exhibitions (jewellery and pharmaceuticals). My role involved a variety of job duties from creating sales promotions tools to inviting overseas buyers. I also worked with one of the International Sales/Marketing Directors: writing press releases, making barter agreements with media partners, designing EDMs and banners. To create promotional materials, I collected and analysed relevant data to understand the market trends before discussing with my team. I handled all paperwork and provided translating support to the management, such as creating brochures and sales materials for international exhibitions (jewellery, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals). I’m also a Language Editor for idioma s.r.o., (Czech Republic). I translate, verify and proofread manuals and catalogues (EN > JP) on a freelance basis. I also worked on a Malaysian/Singaporean food book and translated some of the articles on the official Bangka-Belitung Tourism website to attract more Japanese tourists to visit the islands. I currently work as Japanese language teacher at a language school in Tokyo as well.

I am a freelance translator & editor. I majored in Computer Engineering at my university. After my graduation from university I lived in Australia for 3 years to work as a computer programmer, which helped me to improve my English skills. And then I moved to China and worked as a project manager for 5 years. Over the last 7 years, I have translated many translation tasks on various job sites such as www.freelancer.com that is one of the world’s largest job sites. Korean is my second native language because I was brought up in Korea from 6 to 17. I can translate English<->Japanese, English<->Korean, Korean<->Japanese. I am good at technical translation, especially IT-related translation. I want US$ 0.04~0.07 per word (or US$ 0.024~0.04 per character) and I can translate 2000 words (or 2500 characters) a day. I can also edit Microsoft Word, Power Point, Publisher files and Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, PDF files. The price for DTP is US$ 3.12~5.2 per page and US$ 3.0~5.0 per one image need to be edited. If necessary, I can work on holidays or overtime.
