We are looking for native speakers of Bahasa Malaysia to help us localise our product.
what3words is a global mapping company that essentially takes 3 random words and assigns them to 3m x 3m squares around the world. So our company’s address is index.home.raft. My home address is blaze.debate.giant – more accurate than a postcode and easier to remember than a 16 digit lat-long coordinate.
You can read more about what3words and its application here: [HIDDEN] The video at the top of the page is particularly useful, and you can follow the links to see how the map itself works.
We are currently working to launch a version of the map. This comprises two main tasks: 1) making sure that the best, most common Bahasa Malaysia words are found and used to map places in Malaysia itself, and 2) making sure that no unsuitable words end up on the map. These might include offensive or negative words, but also things like names of people or places (that could be confusing) and others. Also any spelling mistakes, obviously!
The work is freelance and entirely working from home; all you will need is a computer and internet access. We pay £10 per hour for any work completed, and would usually expect around 5-10 hours per week, in small chunks of work that are easy to fit around other commitments. This can be tailored to your particular circumstances. Overall, the work should take around 5 months to complete.
If you are interested in working with us, please do read the website, have a look at the map, and get in contact at [HIDDEN] with your CV. Please use “what3words Bahasa Malaysia consultancy” as the email subject header. I’d also love to hear what you think of what3words, and what your 3 word address is at home!
