Translators without Borders is looking for Kurmanji to English transcribers and translators to participate in a project for one of our non-profit partners, who is conducting interviews with female Iraqi refugees that have fled from ISIS. They are assessing their mental health and attitude towards prospects of peace and justice responsibility.
The project includes:
- Transcription of interviews with women who speak Sinjar Kurmanji. It’s crucial that you are able to understand their dialect.
- Once the transcription is done, the Sinjar Kurmanji text will need to be translated into English.
- Translators and transcribers will need to allocate at least two hours per working day by February's end.
Because of the uniqueness of this project, its length and the time linguists need to allocate to it, Translators without Borders will offer monetary incentives to the linguists who are willing to participate, after a successful completion of a short sample audio section.
Please contact [HIDDEN] if you are interested or you wish to receive more information about the project. Alternatively, you can also apply here to become a volunteer translator and be involved in this project or any other future initiative: translatorswithoutborders.org/volunteer/translators/
We look forward to seeing you on the team.
