Sr. Director of Business Development

Location: Boston, USA / Remote

Mission

The mission of our Sr. Director of Business Development is to establish, build, and develop strategic partnerships with top global tech ecosystems (such as Amazon, Adobe, Microsoft, etc.). This includes integrating Smartcat’s uniquely positioned tech stack and marketplace with partner ecosystems while setting up a continuous translation delivery loop for buyers and suppliers of language services.

Your outcomes

  • Over the next 12 months, you will be expected to build and launch integration partnerships with 10 new ecosystems. A partnership is considered successfully launched when it generates $50+k per month in top-line revenue for the Smartcat marketplace in 3-6 months after launch.
  • Develop business with 5 existing ecosystem partners.
  • Define the strategy for the Smartcat marketplace of SaaS applications, reconcile it with the leadership and the product teams, and lead its execution.
  • Work with top end-customers and translation companies to help them benefit from a connected translation experience through our integrations.

Requirements

  • Ability to become a thought leader and expand multidimensional relationships with technological ecosystems.
  • Comfortable working with remote teams, startups, and/or social enterprises.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, proposal writing, and budgeting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to navigate colleague, customer, and partner interactions. We operate in a niche global industry ($45 bln) where trust and good relations matter.

  • Developing and driving joint go-to-market business plans with your strategic partners and the Smartcat product, marketing, and sales teams.
  • Consistently creating new opportunities and maintaining a pipeline from your strategic partners to our sales organization.
  • Transition new relationships to the client teams by assisting and guiding cross-functional deal teams from initial sourcing to launch.
