How is it better than just translating right in WPML?

Configuring and using the integration

To start using the integration:

  1. Install WPML.
  2. Install the WPML Translation Management add-on.
  3. Get a corporate account on Smartcat — it’s free.
  4. In Smartcat, go to Settings > API and generate and write down your API credentials.
  5. In WPML Translation Management settings, go to Translation Services and authenticate connection to your Smartcat account:

To submit content for translation:

  1. Go to WPML Translation Management > Translation Dashboard.
  2. Pick the content you want to translate and the languages.
  3. Click Add selected content to translation basket:

To find and assign freelancers for translation:

  1. Open respective project page in Smartcat.
  2. Click Assign.
  3. Click Add Assignee > Find Freelancers.
  4. Choose one or several freelancers, if necessary using the filters.
  5. Click Confirm:

Once a freelancer accepts your invitation:

  1. In Smartcat, go to the project page.
  2. Click Assign.
  3. Click Confirm Assignment for one or several freelancers who have confirmed your invitation.

Alternatively, if you want to translate the content yourself:

  1. In Smartcat, go to the project page.
  2. Click Open for the document you want to work on first.
  3. Start translating.

Once the translation is done, your webpage will be automatically updated in all languages:
